When Darden decided to build its new headquarters in Orlando, I had already been very involved with the Darden Facilities team over the years on campus enhancements and remodels in their current location. Near the end of construction completion of the new building, I was contacted to assist with last minute furnishings and décor for the space. It was a very fast paced job, but the architecture of the building, completed by Perkins+Will out of Atlanta, GA, was an amazing place in which to complete the tasks. Space planning of many of the common areas was included on the list and custom furnishings with rich, faux leather were implemented into the various areas. Custom area rugs and rich art pieces and sculptures from a local art vendor accented walls and floors throughout. A contemporary theme was used in all selections, paying careful attention to furnishings that would stand the test of time and wear in the heavily occupied commercial structure.
