Operations Manager / Project Manager
Experience
The Operations Manager / Project Manager will oversee interior design staff while completing a variety of high-level creative duties. The candidate will be involved in the marketing strategies for the team, meeting with clients, giving direction to staff, and monitoring the progress of all stages of the projects within the studio. The candidate will make ultimate decisions about the concept direction and interior design, including planning, furniture, fixtures, and finishes. The candidate shall further demonstrate his or her success collaborating with consulting team members including architects, furniture dealers, lighting designers, manufacturers, and product representatives while efficiently maintaining clear and open communication. The candidate should be able to adhere to tight deadlines and manage budget constraints to deliver a great design and experience.

Candidates shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Interior Design or Architecture degree with at least 15 years’ job experience in hospitality and/or entertainment markets, workplace, and transportation. Having an NCIDQ certificate or AIA license is a plus. Considerable experience in hospitality is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Hiring, developing, and inspiring the design team and analyzing market research to create more effective designs.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their needs and the design elements they want and turn abstract concepts into creative ideas.
  • Overseeing the design projects, from start to finish, and monitoring the staff members to ensure they adhere to the budget and timeline constraints.
  • Create and develop ‘storyboards’ for clients and the design team to visualize the complete project vision.
  • Assume a leadership mentoring role in the programming, conceptual design, space planning, schematic design, and design development phases.
  • Guide the team in each presentation deliverable, outlining the format and content necessary for the appropriate design phase and project type.
  • Review all furniture, material finishes, FF&E, and lighting selections.
  • Review all client presentations and finish boards prior to submission or presentation.
  • Present the design and presentations to the client.
  • Reviewing feedback from clients and making alterations according to the clients' needs.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and the team to establish and maintain project goals and quality.
  • Attend Marketing pitches and presentations and assist the Director of Business Development in writing proposal.
  • Attend weekly Management Meetings.

Required Skills
  • Proven commitment to design excellence.
  • A minimum of five years’ managerial or senior-level design experience.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate with our in-house team members.
  • Proficient knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles needed to produce well-coordinated projects.

  • Proficiency in the use of project management and production software and tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, MSWord, Bluebeam, as well as AutoCAD.

Project Architect
Experience
Candidates shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Architecture degree with at least 10-15 years’ job experience, be a registered Architect, and have eight years as Project Architect for architectural projects in hospitality (specifically restaurants), workplace or multifamily markets.

The candidate shall further demonstrate his or her success collaborating with consulting team members including interior designers, engineers, lighting designers, technology, security, and kitchen consultants. The successful candidate shall have project experience with planning through documentation and construction phases. Experience with the development of architectural project specifications and a working familiarity with interior design documentation is required.

The successful candidate must be proficiency in Revit in all project phases including setting up the model, coordinating consultant drawings and construction documents. The candidate shall demonstrate a thorough understanding of Governing Codes, ADA Guidelines and Life Safety Standards and be able to guide the team in their application during design and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the architectural documentation team during the preparation of coordinated documents from planning through construction documentation. The project architect shall work closely with the project manager and senior interior designer to establish and maintain project goals and quality.
  • Day to day point of contact with Consulting Engineers and Specialty Consultants.
  • Analysis and oversight of our scope of work pertaining to Governing Codes, ADA, and other applicable National Standards.
  • Oversee compliance with project documentation standards, protocols and guidelines.
  • Management of the development of Architectural Specifications.
  • Oversee the collaboration with project cost estimators.
  • Mentoring less experienced staff.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit is required, having used the tool in all project phases including construction documents.
  • Proficient knowledge of Building Codes, Standards and ADAAG.

  • Thorough understanding of the development and production of architectural specifications and proficiency in the use of MasterSpec.
  • Proficiency in the use of project management and production software and tools including Excel, MSWord, Bluebeam, as well as AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software is a plus.

Senior Interior Designer
Experience
Candidates shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Interior Design degree with at least 10 years’ job experience in transportation, workplace, hospitality and/or entertainment markets. Considerable experience in hospitality is a plus.

The candidate shall further demonstrate his or her success collaborating with consulting team members including architects, furniture dealers, lighting designers, manufacturers, and product representatives and efficiently maintaining clear and open communication. The successful candidate should also take a leadership role within the project team to direct and oversee junior designers when needed.

Project Management Responsibilities
  • Assume a leadership role in the programming, conceptual design, schematic deign, design development, space planning and construction documentation.
  • Day to day point of contact with specialty consultants.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Project Architect to establish and maintain project goals and quality.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, material finishes, FF&E, and lighting.
  • Oversee compliance with project documentation standards, protocols and guidelines.
  • Management of the development of interior design drawings and renderings.
  • Continuously provide design support to and maintain open communication with clients, consultants, manufacturers, and team members during all phases of the project
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and finish boards in a timely manner.
  • Draft floor plans, elevations, and Revit models.
  • Mentor less experienced staff.
